We're Often Asked:
Q. I want a Display Print. Should I send the original file from my camera or a version I've worked on in Photoshop?
A. Unless you are an experienced Photoshop user working on a properly calibrated display, it's best to send both so we can see what was done to the image and revert to the original if necessary.
Oftentimes we receive files that have been unintentionally damaged by inexperienced users. Having the original file on hand allows our technicians a fresh start when preparing a file for printing or other output.
Q. Does image quality suffer when a file is emailed, uploaded, or copied to a CD?
A. No. Copying or transferring a file has no impact on quality.
Caveat: Some programs, like Google's Picasa, have a built in function for emailing that automatically down-sizes files before emailing. This has an impact on quality and should be avoided when maximum quality is intended for the recipient.
